Manual honors teammate again with gutsy performance.
Rebounding after a loss in a sport is one thing; however, coming back to the hardwood after losing a teammate to death is simply a tribute to the character of Manual's players and coaches. With their teammate's jersey resting on the bench, the Redskins controlled the majority of the first half of basketball. Manual drove and cut consistently to the paint for easy baskets and free-
throw attempts. The Redskins controlled the boards with passionate rebounds and put backs. Not until the clock was winding down in the second quarter did the Bulldogs get any breathing room. That was when
Levi Roach nailed a bomb from the right wing. The shot helped Roach earn a career high 11 points for the game and keep the Dogs ahead for the middle two quarters. Brownsburg picked up the defense in the second half holding the Redskins to 19 total points while the purple and white offense remain consistent outscoring Manual 31-19. Enique Mason led the Dogs with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Austin Fish scored 13 points going 4-4 from the free-throw line. Levi Roach dropped in 11 including two tri-fectas. J.D. Cosby dished out five assists and scored eight points. Jacob Stevens scored six points; Eldridge scored four, Runyon
three, and Paddock two points in the victory. Although the Bulldogs earned a 'W' in the win loss column, the Manual Redskins deserved one too. Our family will continue to pray for the coaching staff, teammates, and family of the young basketball player taken from all of us. Bless you Redskins.
Bulldogs win at HSE
For the first time in ten years the Bulldogs (6-4) traveled to Hamilton Southeastern (6-5) and won.
The victory was not easy. It was another physical HCC battle between two programs who have had to overcome injury this year. The Bulldogs weathered play without J.D. Cosby and the Royals have had to play without their leading scorer Charlie Duffy. This past Friday night both players were ready to go though. In the end it was a Bulldog team victory that held Duffy to 7 points and the Royals to 40% shooting for the W. The first half was sluggish as both teams stepped up their defense, but the Dogs went to the locker room with a 21-19 lead thanks to great bench play from Eldridge, Roach, and Runyon who combined for 9 first half points. The Dogs came out hotter in the third quarter and increased the lead to eight points behind Cosby's seven points and Fish's six points. The Royals attacked the basket and the Bulldog big men got into foul trouble. Alan Paddock came off the bench and played tremendous defense giving the Dogs a lift. However the Royals closed the gap to two points early in the fourth quarter.
Jacob Stevens answered with a three from the left wing to begin another Bulldog run. As Enique Mason grabbed defensive rebounds in the fourth, all of the Dogs knocked down free throws going 25-29 for the game, winning 65-53. J.D. Cosby led all scorers with a new career high 20 points.
Austin Fish scored 13 points, grabbed three boards, dished four assists, and nabbed three steals. Jacob Stevens shot a perfect five for five and scored eight points. Mason put in seven points and pulled down seven rebounds. Levi Roach scored seven points. Kurtis Runyon scored six points and grabbed five rebounds. Jacob Eldridge scored four points in the team victory.

Quakers beat Bulldogs for County Title
Poor shooting from the Bulldogs doomed the possibility of a third county title Saturday night. The Dogs shot a chilling 32% against the Quakers. The Dogs outrebounded, shot 19 more shots, scored seven more points from the foul line, and even forced more turnovers than Plainfield. Nevertheless the Dogs couldn't overcome the poor field goal percentage. Nor could the Dogs slow the Quaker attack as Plainfield scorched the nets each quarter to win 65-73. The Dogs were lead by Torrey Nibbs who slashed for 14 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Enique Mason scored 12 points, grabbed six boards, and blocked three shots. Joacob Stevens was a perfect 5 for 5 from the foul line, scored 9 points, and grabbed nine rebounds. Kurtis Runyon scored 8 points and boarded five off the glass. Austin Fish dropped in nine points. J.D. Cosby had 5 steals to go along with seven points. Jacob Eldridge had 5 points and 5 rebounds.
Bulldogs Race Past Bruins in County Action
The Bulldogs raced out to a quick 25-10 lead against the Bruins of Tri-West in semi-final action of the Hendrick's County Tournament. Once the race began the Dogs never looked back. Five players scored in the first quarter as the Dogs' defense created transition opportunities. J.D. Cosby scored 11 of his game high 12 points in the first half. The Dogs went in at half ahead 42-17. Nine players scored in the second half as the Dogs continued to defend it well and execute on the offensive end to conclude the game with a 73-36 victory. The Dogs were led by Cosby who had eight assists to go along with 12 points. Austin Fish dropped in 11 points. Levi Roach scored a career high 10 points. Torrey Nibbs also added 10 points.
The Men at Wheeler Missions

Thanks to several key parents who helped organize and lead our program, and to Mike Barclay, director and minister at the Wheeler Missions. Because of you our basketball players, managers, and coaches were blessed by some of the nicest men we have ever met. Moreover we all heard firsthand the slippery slope of addiction that conquers many.
