Boys Basketball Team Wins over Decatur Central
After feasting with family over Thanksgiving break the boys’ basketball team beat Decatur Central 66-61 on Saturday night earning the Bulldog’s first victory of the season. The Dogs dropped in 15 points in the first quarter but allowed 19. The Bulldogs bench picked up the intensity in the second quarter crashing the boards harder and playing better defense holding Decatur Central to eight points while pouring in 19 taking a 34-27 half time lead. Both teams played the third quarter even. The Dogs held off a Hawks rally in the fourth to seal the victory. Jaraan Lands led the Bulldogs with 15 points and added seven rebounds. Darayl Jordan led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds to go along with his 14 points and four assists. Mycah Whetstone dropped in 14, points, seven rebounds, and a team high four deflections in addition to a timely charge late in the fourth quarter. Chase Dutra tied for game high four assists and added two points. Kenyatta Hardy took a charge and connected for five points. Taylor Shields had four points. Jordan Reagan sacrificed his body for a charge and added four points and two assists. Evan Finley pounded home four points, and Kyle Thompson added four second half points. The Dogs face HCC rival Fishers Friday night at Fishers High School.
